We only collect personal data that you give us directly, through one of three forms on this site:
Contact form (Contact.html): your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Free sign-up form (SignUp.html): your name, work email, phone number, and whether you're a contracting authority or a supplier/bidder. We do not transmit or store the password you enter on this form anywhere — there's no account system on the other end for it to protect yet, so we treat it as write-only and it goes nowhere.
Subscription request form (Subscribe.html): your name, work email, organisation, role, and the plan and billing preference you select.
We do not use tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or third-party advertising cookies on this website at the time of writing. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We use the information you submit to: respond to your enquiry; set up and provision access to Social Value Navigator; process subscription requests and take payment via our payment provider, Stripe; send you transactional emails confirming what you've asked for (for example, payment instructions or an access link); and, where you've agreed to it, send occasional relevant product updates, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Our legal basis for this processing is: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering one (setting up access, handling a subscription request); our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the business; and, for product update emails, your consent, given via the checkbox on the sign-up form.
We share personal data with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf, strictly to deliver the service you've asked for:
Resend — sends the transactional emails this site generates (enquiry confirmations, payment instructions, access links).
Stripe — processes subscription payments. Card details are entered directly on Stripe's own payment page and never reach our servers.
Netlify — hosts this website and the serverless functions that process form submissions.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.
Some of the providers listed above may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK's international data transfer framework or standard contractual clauses, to ensure your data stays protected.
We keep personal data submitted through these forms for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry or provide the service you've requested, and after that for a limited period to meet our legal, accounting, or tax obligations — typically no longer than [X years] from your last contact with us, unless we're required to keep it longer by law.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Social Value Navigator is a business tool aimed at contracting authorities and suppliers. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, children.
